Our opinion

Ledger Nano S Logo
Ledger Nano S
The Ledger Nano S was the first successful hardware wallet on the market and remains a market leader today. It’s a classic among wallets, offering high security and excellent value for money. The Nano S is ideal for beginners with a limited budget. Recently, Ledger introduced an upgrade: the Ledger Nano S Plus. Priced at €79, it’s only slightly more expensive than the regular Nano S but offers a significant upgrade in features and build quality. For those willing to spend a bit more, the premium Ledger Nano X is the better choice. With the Nano X, you get a noticeably higher-quality device, more storage space for apps, and easier handling thanks to Bluetooth connectivity with your smartphone.
Ledger Nano S review
Trezor Model One Logo
Trezor Model One
The Trezor Model One offers a simple and secure entry point into self-custody of cryptocurrencies. While it has fewer features and lacks a color display compared to the premium “Model T,” it provides excellent value for beginners and budget-conscious users. A notable positive aspect is the manufacturer’s open-source philosophy, which is not always common in the wallet space and contributes significantly to the overall security of the wallet and its software. Overall, we can definitely recommend the Model One but would personally lean towards a comparable “Ledger Nano S” or a “Bitbox.” However, for those who want to stick with Trezor and are looking for an affordable, secure hardware wallet, the Model One is an excellent choice.
