Our opinion

Ledger Nano S Logo
Ledger Nano S
The Ledger Nano S was the first successful hardware wallet on the market and remains a market leader today. It’s a classic among wallets, offering high security and excellent value for money. The Nano S is ideal for beginners with a limited budget. Recently, Ledger introduced an upgrade: the Ledger Nano S Plus. Priced at €79, it’s only slightly more expensive than the regular Nano S but offers a significant upgrade in features and build quality. For those willing to spend a bit more, the premium Ledger Nano X is the better choice. With the Nano X, you get a noticeably higher-quality device, more storage space for apps, and easier handling thanks to Bluetooth connectivity with your smartphone.
Ledger Nano S review
Ledger Stax Logo
Ledger Stax
As Ledger’s new flagship model, the Ledger Stax is the most modern and technically advanced wallet in their product lineup. The company invested heavily in design, bringing on former Apple designer Tony Fadell, who was instrumental in designing the legendary iPod — an influence that is clearly reflected in the Ledger Stax’s design. However, in our testing, we found the Ledger Flex to be visually more appealing. Despite its attractive curved E-Ink display and casing, the Ledger Stax feels somewhat slippery in the hand and less solid than the Flex. Technically, the Ledger Stax surpasses or matches the Flex in many areas. For budget-conscious users, however, it’s not an option: priced at nearly 400 USD, Ledger positions the Stax as a premium product, much like Apple has done with its iPhones for years. Ultimately, whether the high price is justified for a pure hardware wallet is a personal decision.

Ledger Nano S
In summary, the Ledger Nano S receives predominantly positive reviews, especially regarding its security features and support for a wide range of cryptocurrencies. Users appreciate the compact design and ease of use, although some see room for improvement in display size and navigation. Opinions on beginner-friendliness and customer support are mixed, with some users mentioning a learning curve and a desire for improved support. The limited storage capacity, allowing only a certain number of crypto apps, is seen by some as a drawback. Overall, experiences are predominantly positive, indicating general user satisfaction with the Ledger Nano S.
Ledger Stax Logo
Ledger Stax
The Ledger Stax combines sleek design with innovative features and high security standards. The e-ink touchscreen display is perceived as a game-changer and significantly enhances usability. However, the 1 MB storage limit remains a key drawback, making it difficult for heavy users to manage multiple assets. The high price (around $399) is seen as justified for those prioritizing design and security. Overall, the Ledger Stax is a solid choice for users who place particular value on aesthetics, user-friendliness, and security.
