Our opinion

Dogecoin is a phenomenon like no other, demonstrating the immense power that internet memes can wield. The hype and price surges have been repeatedly fueled by prominent supporters such as Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who is also known on Twitter as a provocateur and “troll king.” As entertaining as the story and concept behind Dogecoin may be, the reality is that Dogecoin offers no compelling use cases or technical innovations. Dogecoin is emblematic of “pump and dump” schemes, where the hope is to buy the coin cheaply and find a buyer at higher prices. We steer clear of such speculative gambles, though we can certainly appreciate the charm of the memes.
