US spot Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs drew a combined $877 million in net inflows on September 22, led by BlackRock and Fidelity. Wallets linked to the FTX bankruptcy estate and Alameda Research transferred up to 27,373 ether, worth about $75 million, to crypto market maker Wintermute, according to onchain analysts PeckShield and EmberCN. The largest single transfer was 23,639 ether, flagged early Wednesday by PeckShield, while EmberCN reported a combined total across six wallets. The transfers could indicate plans to sell or hedge the assets, but onchain data does not confirm a sale or the purpose, and neither Wintermute nor the FTX Recovery Trust has commented. The move comes as the trust continues its creditor-distribution program, including a planned $2.2 billion payout in March. Solana generated more user fees than Ethereum on Sept. 22, with $1.1 million in 24-hour chain fees versus Ethereum's $649,423, according to DefiLlama data. However, Ethereum burned more fees in dollar terms, reporting $226,298 in burns compared to Solana's $117,138. Solana also led over 7-day and 30-day fee aggregates, while Ethereum retained a smaller lead in reported burns. The fee destinations differ significantly. The Commodity Futures Trading Commission is reviewing unusual trading activity on Kalshi's Ether perpetual futures, launched June 4, 2026. Analysts flagged that 47% to 63% of notional volume on certain September days consisted of repetitive, fixed-size orders clustered around specific price levels, with volume-to-open-interest ratios reaching as high as 174x. Approximately 120,000 trades were flagged. Kalshi attributes the pattern to a single market maker using automated systems under its liquidity provision program, and notes its rulebook prohibits wash trading. Prediction market platform Trueo announced plans to migrate from the Base layer-2 network to Ethereum, citing broader integration opportunities and the development of its next-generation oracle system.
