Bittensor addresses a structural issue in the AI sector: compute, models, and expertise are increasingly concentrated in the hands of a few major corporations. Its subnet model is a clever approach. Instead of building one monolithic AI platform, Bittensor creates an ecosystem of specialized markets where competition and incentives push quality forward. Conceptually, the Yuma consensus is stronger than a pure proof-of-work style mechanism because it rewards useful output rather than raw computation for its own sake. The critical question is quality control. A decentralized network with many subnets is hard to curate, and for companies that need reliable AI services, decentralization alone is not a compelling value proposition.
