About Shiba Inu

What is Shiba Inu?

Shiba Inu is a meme coin built on the Ethereum blockchain. Like its predecessor and rival Dogecoin, Shiba Inu doesn’t have a real-world utility but thrives on a vibrant community known as the “ShibArmy.” The name Shiba Inu is inspired by the Japanese dog breed of the same name, which gained significant popularity through an internet meme.

Our opinion

Similar to its predecessor Dogecoin, Shiba Inu is primarily driven by a strong Twitter community and has experienced recurring hype cycles in the past. Since innovation and real utility do not play a central role in this meme coin, we do not consider it a good long-term investment. However, for risk-tolerant investors, Shiba Inu is certainly an interesting alternative to Dogecoin: the developers and community have ambitious goals for the project, currently working on various features, reward systems, and even NFTs. We also appreciate the project’s social aspect: the founder, known by the pseudonym “Ryoshi,” sent 50% of all SHIB coins to Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin, who donated SHIB coins worth approximately $1 billion to the India Covid Relief Fund on May 12, 2021.
