MetaMask is one of the most popular software wallets for tokens on the Ethereum blockchain and serves as both an interface and browser for Web3 applications. Its browser extension is arguably the most popular way to connect and interact with decentralized apps (Web3 gaming, DeFi, NFTs, etc.).

Our opinion

MetaMask Logo
MetaMask
MetaMask is a simple wallet that supports all blockchains compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). Within the Ethereum ecosystem, the wallet works seamlessly and provides easy access to Web3 applications. MetaMask is often required as a login substitute for verifying and creating accounts on these platforms. Rather than serving as a traditional wallet for managing your crypto portfolio, MetaMask functions more as an interface for decentralized finance (DeFi) and decentralized apps. There are far better apps available for portfolio management that offer more convenience and easier setup. However, MetaMask was long the go-to solution for accessing Web3 and NFTs. This is now gradually changing, with more wallets offering similar functionality through browser extensions.
MetaMask review
Atomic Wallet Logo
Atomic Wallet
We consider Atomic Wallet to be a clearly designed, user-friendly wallet for cryptocurrencies. Overall, it compares well with the Exodus Wallet but falls noticeably short in a direct comparison. Atomic Wallet has significantly fewer features than comparable wallets and lags behind the competition in user experience. The website’s presentation, especially the section under “Trusted Reviews,” strikes us as somewhat unprofessional and leaves a questionable impression. Some users also complain about apparently insufficient customer support. Generally, reviews on popular platforms and app stores are very positive. However, personally, we would lean towards other software wallets or a secure hardware wallet like Ledger, Trezor, or BitBox.
