Kaspa
 (KAS)

Kaspa is a cryptocurrency that uses the GhostDAG protocol instead of a traditional linear blockchain. Unlike classic blockchains, Kaspa does not discard concurrently mined blocks but processes them simultaneously in a BlockDAG network. This enables extremely fast transactions with minimal confirmation times, without compromising security or decentralization.

Our opinion

IOTA Logo
IOTA
 (IOTA)
IOTA underwent one of the most dramatic transformations in crypto: After years developing its own Tangle technology, the project made a radical pivot to the Move Virtual Machine in 2024. While the original vision of a fee-free machine economy was innovative, the DAG-based approach failed due to practical issues like the never-removed Coordinator and performance weaknesses. The move to Move represents both capitulation and fresh start: IOTA now uses proven blockchain technology instead of experimental approaches. The project maintains its IoT focus but must regain trust from a divided community and compete against established Move chains like Sui and Aptos. IOTA's industry partnerships and domain expertise remain valuable, yet the entire ecosystem must be rebuilt from scratch. For investors, IOTA is now a completely different project than before – less visionary but potentially more realistic. We follow the development with interest but currently don't recommend investment due to high uncertainties and strong competition. IOTA's story shows: Even innovative ideas can fail, but the courage for radical realignment deserves respect.

Kaspa Logo
Kaspa
 (KAS)
Kaspa addresses one of the biggest challenges of traditional blockchains: scalability without compromising security or decentralization. Using the GhostDAG/PHANTOM protocol, all generated blocks are integrated—a key advantage over classic blockchains like Bitcoin and Ethereum, which discard many blocks. Extremely short block times and fast confirmations make Kaspa one of the most performant Proof-of-Work cryptocurrencies. Another benefit is the kHeavyHash algorithm, which makes mining more efficient and resource-friendly compared to classic PoW algorithms like SHA-256. However, PoW remains energy-intensive, potentially leading to regulatory challenges in the long term. Kaspa also faces challenges: it must compete with established networks like Bitcoin and Ethereum, which have strong network effects and developer communities. Additionally, Kaspa is still in an early ecosystem development stage—especially regarding smart contracts, DeFi, and real-world applications crucial for long-term adoption.
