Kaspa
 (KAS)

Kaspa is a cryptocurrency that uses the GhostDAG protocol instead of a traditional linear blockchain. Unlike classic blockchains, Kaspa does not discard concurrently mined blocks but processes them simultaneously in a BlockDAG network. This enables extremely fast transactions with minimal confirmation times, without compromising security or decentralization.

Our opinion

Kaspa Logo
Kaspa
 (KAS)
Kaspa addresses one of the biggest challenges of traditional blockchains: scalability without compromising security or decentralization. Using the GhostDAG/PHANTOM protocol, all generated blocks are integrated—a key advantage over classic blockchains like Bitcoin and Ethereum, which discard many blocks. Extremely short block times and fast confirmations make Kaspa one of the most performant Proof-of-Work cryptocurrencies. Another benefit is the kHeavyHash algorithm, which makes mining more efficient and resource-friendly compared to classic PoW algorithms like SHA-256. However, PoW remains energy-intensive, potentially leading to regulatory challenges in the long term. Kaspa also faces challenges: it must compete with established networks like Bitcoin and Ethereum, which have strong network effects and developer communities. Additionally, Kaspa is still in an early ecosystem development stage—especially regarding smart contracts, DeFi, and real-world applications crucial for long-term adoption.

Tether
 (USDT)
Tether has established itself as an indispensable tool in the crypto market. No other stablecoin offers comparable liquidity and global availability. For traders and users in emerging markets, USDT is often the most practical way to hold value in US dollars. That said, the criticism is valid: Tether Limited operates offshore, full audits are still missing, and the freeze function highlights how centralized the system is. For EU users, MiCA adds another factor, as USDT is increasingly restricted on regulated platforms. Despite this, Tether has weathered every major crisis and has processed billions in redemptions without issues. We see USDT as a highly practical trading instrument with clear utility, but not as a long-term store of value. Anyone holding larger amounts should keep issuer risk in mind and consider diversifying into regulated alternatives such as USDC.
