The all-time high refers to the highest price a cryptocurrency has ever reached. It marks the point at which the cryptocurrency’s value hit its previous peak, based on available historical data. For many, this high is an important data point as it helps better assess the current price and market potential of the coin.

Market capitalization is the total value of all coins of a cryptocurrency currently in circulation. It is calculated by multiplying the number of coins in circulation by the current price of a single coin.

Trading volume (24h) is the total value of all transactions that took place on crypto exchanges in the last 24 hours. A high trading volume generally indicates greater market activity and better liquidity.

The price trend shows short-term price action over the last 30 trading days. For each day, the open is compared to the close: if the close is higher, the day is marked green; otherwise red. A sustained majority of green days suggests an uptrend that may persist in the short to medium term.

Momentum measures the current market dynamics of a cryptocurrency. The value is based on technical indicators such as the Relative Strength Index (RSI), the Fear & Greed Index, and the short-term price trend over the past 30 days. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is a momentum indicator that ranges from 0 to 100 and shows whether upward or downward price movements have recently dominated. Values of 70 or above are commonly considered overbought and may indicate that the market has already risen strongly and could be overheated. Values of 30 or below are considered oversold and may point to a potential rebound, which is why low RSI values are sometimes interpreted as a possible buying opportunity. The ratio of market capitalization to TVL (Total Value Locked: the sum of assets “locked” in the blockchain, e.g. smart contracts and tokens). This ratio compares the public market valuation with actual usage (assets locked in the blockchain) and can indicate over- or undervaluation of a blockchain and its cryptocurrency. The lower this ratio, the better.

This metric shows how many on-chain transactions occurred in the last 24 hours. It helps assess the short-term activity and usage of a crypto network.

Active addresses (24h) are the number of unique addresses that sent or received a transaction in a rolling 24-hour window, counted once per address. It’s a useful proxy for network activity and engagement, but addresses ≠ users (one person or an exchange can control many).

The sector indicates which category a cryptocurrency belongs to, such as currency, stablecoins, smart contracts, or memecoins. This makes it easier to compare cryptocurrencies with a similar use case.

The blockchain is the underlying network a cryptocurrency runs on. This column indicates which blockchain a project uses, for example the Ethereum blockchain.

The consensus algorithm is the set of rules that determines how all participants in a blockchain network agree on a shared state. It ensures that everyone in the network recognizes the same transaction history, for example who owns which coins or which transactions have taken place.

Staking means locking up cryptocurrency in a network for a set period to help validate transactions. In return, participants earn staking rewards, typically expressed as an annual percentage yield (APY). Staking is a feature of blockchains that use a proof-of-stake consensus mechanism.

Most cryptocurrencies are open source. This means that the codebase of the network is publicly accessible, typically on GitHub. Anyone can contribute to the project, propose changes, or flag bugs and security vulnerabilities.

Energy consumption indicates how much energy a cryptocurrency requires per transaction and serves as an indicator of how sustainable its underlying consensus algorithm is. Since exact figures are difficult to determine, we classify energy consumption broadly as low, medium, or high.
